"more than colour - it is life that we all miss as we pass by on everyday streets - Marcus Jansen paintings has vibrancy and loneliness - tragedy and struggle - you can see all these things in his paintings only an artist can - the above painting as a lone figure walks back to an hovel - a space to call their own - his paintings truly tell stories of the human condition - RABIN"

"love them! so vibrant and beautiful!:D"

"just realized the name of that second one. there could be a deeper meaning there... broken bus, statement about education somehow? reminds me of a commerical for funding to repair run down schools. very thought provoking peice!"

"love it. you can use your imagination on that first one. love the look too. VERY cool!"

"The title I saw on the book featured on his website, "Modern Urban Expressionism," certainly fits. Beyond the urban, I also see the influence of a heart and eye developed by the additional influences of a soldier's life, The Gulf War, life in Germany, a familiarity with the European sensibility, US disasters (of nature and man-made) and, of course, art history. I wouldn't choose colors often found in his color palette, but that is a good thing; meaning that he speaks well by his choices based on his experiences and his eye. Well done! (Sehr gut, junge mann. Vielen dank.)"
